MBA Integrated Management Projects
Achieve your organizational objectives faster by partnering with the UC Davis Graduate School of Management on an Integrated Management Project (IMP). These projects are 10-week initiatives conducted by teams of MBA students, focusing on a challenge, issue, or opportunity identified by the project sponsor.
MBA student teams have a proven track record of researching and analyzing issues to deliver high-impact insights and recommendations to sponsors.
More than 80 percent of sponsors implement their teams’ recommendations or use the analyses to inform future business decisions.
Key Aspects of an IMP Project
Each project is scoped jointly by the sponsor and representatives of UC Davis. The key to sponsoring a high-impact project is identifying an important issue or opportunity facing your organization that can be analyzed within the 10-week timeframe.
MBA Student Teams
Each project is performed by a team of four to five MBA students counseled by a faculty advisor with extensive experience guiding previous IMP teams.
Collaborative Insights
Teams develop project-specific insights, work products and deliverables, which are reviewed by the sponsor during several meetings throughout the quarter. These updates to the sponsor allow the teams to incorporate direct feedback into their work plan.
Project Timing
Each project is completed during a 10-week UC Davis academic quarter. The MBA team invests 700+ hours in each project.
Project Funding
Sponsor clients makes a “suggested donation” to the Graduate School of Management. This donation varies by the type and size of the sponsor organization or company.
