So as far as student life here at the GSM and how I've taken advantage of that. One thing is, is that I'm the Director of Programming for the Health Care Council. I want to go into women's health. So, anything that has any type of health related aspect to it, I snatch on to.
The International Study Trip is an opportunity for MBA students, whether you're Part-Time, Online, or Full-Time to go explore an international economic system.
This year we went to Chile, and we actually made history as the first all-women group to go. Well, without the GSM’s global perspective, I wouldn't have the opportunity otherwise to go to Latin America and see the beautiful Chilean landscape, the vineyards and the wonderful people that have so much life and spirit to them.

My ability to problem-solve has greatly been influenced by the MBA. There are a lot of challenges with working with people from different perspectives. It's really taught me how to be better as a group mate, how to be better as a leader through the program, and we're often working on very real-world pertinent issues and thinking about all the different perspectives that we might need to consider has made me more careful, more willing to reach out to others and to have better solutions for problems.

MBA is a very broad skill-based program, where we get access to so many tools that we can use to advance in our career. These skill sets can really help you understand where you stand. We have a unique offering called Immersions, where students actually get to see from an insider’s view, what working in an industry looks like. They get to interact with executives at these top companies, understand what are the challenges of this particular domain.
We have tons of networking opportunities where we get to meet so many alums in different companies, to network with them, to get mentorship. Finally, what is it they really want to do after the MBA. If you really want to come to a place, where you get to excel academically, get real-world skills, have access to a support system, in terms of finding jobs or internships, you should be here at UC Davis.

There is a lot to offer at the business school for people who are interested in exploring their careers. So, we have people come in because maybe they know what path they want to take, and they're looking for the skill set and background knowledge that would help get them there. And, other people are interested in exploring the possibilities. Maybe, they've been in the workplace for a few years and they're okay with what they're doing, but they want to explore something new.
I'd say coming to a small collaborative program like this, it's very flexible where people can expose you to a lot of ideas, but also work with you on your specific path to see what might work out the best.

The faculty, they are always really prepared for class. I think every class tries to incorporate some type of group work or collaboration between the students, and especially with the rise in AI, a lot of them are adjusting the material to try to be more forward focused and to really focus on the new technology that's coming out and how that could be relevant to their material.
